Translate a book or document and listen to it in your language

Listen on the commute, on a walk, or after a day spent looking at a screen. Upload the file, choose the language and the voice โ€” SonikaAI prepares the audio alongside the translated text.

One upload, text and audio

Translation and narration together

You do not have to move the translation between services yourself, or prepare the text for narration somewhere else.

Audio alongside the text

Listen to the material and go back to the translated text whenever you need to re-read a definition, find a name or make notes.

Hear the voice before you start

Pick a voice from the samples for the language and plan you need. SonikaAI takes headings, lists and paragraph boundaries into account when placing pauses; check how names and specialist terms sound on a sample.

Which files can be narrated

Upload EPUB, PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, TXT or MD. PDFs need a text layer: scans that contain only page images are not supported at the moment.

Narration in detail

Main text or full narration

Choose main text to skip recognised running heads, page numbers, notes and bibliographic references โ€” the usual choice for books. If you want those parts, choose full narration: it adds them where the file has them.

Chaptered M4A or MP3

If SonikaAI recognises the chapters, you get one M4A file with chapter marks; if not, an MP3. Download it and listen offline โ€” the format does not depend on whether you chose main text or full narration.

The whole book, or selected PDF pages

Translate and narrate all of it, or pick the PDF page range you need. Scope and what gets narrated are two separate choices.

If you do not need a translation

Choose [narration without translation](/en/tools/text-to-speech) to listen to the material in its original language. The voices available to you, and how much audio you can create, depend on your plan.

Translate and listen to your file

Start with a free sample to judge the translation and the voice on your own document or book. For the full run you can pay once without a subscription, or take a monthly plan.
